It was still raining today, and unfortunately it looks like it’s going to be raining for the next several days. I didn’t spend too much time outside today, though, because I had two classes today- the Aboriginal class and the Environment class. They both went on for a while, but they weren’t that bad- in the Aboriginal class the teacher class gave us an overview of some key concepts, and we had a lot of class participation when we talked about an incident where some tourists in Australia took cell phone pictures of ancient Aboriginal drawings in a secluded cave, and whether or not that counted as cultural appropriation.
Meanwhile, in the Environment class, we learned about things like environmental ethics, and some facts about climate change, among other things. Some of my fellow students didn’t think that particular teacher did a very good job, mostly because he just read off slides, but I didn’t mind it too much. The class ended up going until a little after 10 PM, so there wasn’t much for me to do once I got back home- besides finish off some rum, that is. In the meantime, I hope I can get the chance to explore the city and see some tourist attractions over the next few days, since there happens to be no class.
